Roku 360 camera
Roku wanted to improve the adoption of its 360 camera and noticed that the usage of the "Pan scan" feature was low. I redesigned "Pan scan" to make it understandable and easy to setup.

Background
The Roku 360 camera can rotate and capture live feed and events from different positions on a 360° axis. “Pan Scan” enables the camera to automatically rotate to 4 different positions to ensure that the camera is able to see capture live feed and events from different angles. The user can configure the 4 positions.
Defining the problem
I conducted a heuristic evaluation of the setup, settings and usage of Pan Scan to discover major usability issues. There was poor discoverability and a lack of understandability around the feature, along with a confusing setup flow.

This feature will be launched in 2025 as part of an improvement to the Roku 360 camera.
